The boy Adrian Li scored a whopping 162 in the Mensa intelligence test - the maximum possible for under-18s. As a result of being in the top two percent, Adrian has been offered a membership in the Mensa Society, while his result puts him in the top one percent globally.
Reacting to his results, Li said he now hopes to achieve his dream of becoming “the best doctor in the world.”
"Perhaps one day, I might be able to achieve my dream- to become a cardiologist and get a degree from Cambridge and become the best doctor in the world!" Li said.
Li and his family moved to the UK in 2020 and lives in Barnet, London.
Li’s mum, Rachel Lau, said her son has shown “signs of difference since early childhood” and that he could read out the word “university” with perfect pronunciation at the age of just two - despite having no clue what the word meant.
She noted that her son could write novels by the age of eight after developing a love and passion for books when he was two.
She said Li is now writing a novel about Ancient Rome, with the book hopefully to be published by autumn this year.
Li is set to enroll at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Barnet in September, which is being recognized as one of the best schools nationally.
