Speaking to the media earlier, Lam said she may spend some time on the mainland or overseas, and neither of her two sons -- elder Jeremy Lam Jit-si and junior Joshua Lam Yeuk-hay -- are in Hong Kong.
Still, reports soon disclosed their whereabouts, with the two being spotted in Ireland and France, respectively.
Jeremy Lam is now studying for a Ph.D. degree and was granted a scholarship of at least HK$130,000 for his research by the Irish government last year, according to reports.
It is understood that he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and resigned as the operating manager of Xiaomi in 2019 to pursue a master's degree in Greek philosophy at Trinity College Dublin.
As for Joshua Lam, he has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University in the U.S. and at the Institute of Advanced Scientific Studies (IHES) in France since the fall of last year. According to the website of IHES, Joshua's term started from January 1 until August 31.
It is believed that Joshua is still in France, according to a video uploaded by IHES this April in which Joshua was explaining math theories in the classroom.
