Recently, there is a hot talk in town about the "St. Joseph’s Primary School and College 3D Face Mask Charity", which was initiated by St. Joseph’s 1996 graduate Raymond Lee. Raymond has linked up with Banitore, a HK personal care product manufacturer, to design and produce 3D masks with school badges exclusively for St. Joseph’s Primary School (SJPS) and St. Joseph’s College (SJC). The mask and its packaging box were designed by SJC 2004 graduate, Christopher Yue. This 3D school badge mask is the first 3D mask of its kind to be printed with the school emblem for charity fundraising purpose in Hong Kong. The SJC 3D mask has both adult’s M and L size and is printed with the SJC school badge and the motto "Labore et Virtute" in Latin (meaning “Labour and Virtue” in English). The SJPS 3D mask has adult’s M and L size and children’s S size. The SJC and SJPS masks were only sold to former and existing students and all the proceeds will goto the respective development funds of SJPS and SJC.

Both St. Joseph’s and Banitore are proud and well-known local brands. In this charity event, Banitore appreciates the unity and spirit of Josephians (the demonym for students of SJC and SJPS) and provides full support to the production of this pioneering 3D school badge face mask with a view to assist the development of SJPS and SJC; and to provide high-quality masks to former and existing students and teachers to fight against the epidemic together. SJC and SJPS masks are manufactured and packaged in Hong Kong throughout the entire production process, the products have attained EN14683:2019+AC2019 and ASTM-F2100-19 Level 2; and have also been registered with CE and FDA in the European Union and the United States respectively.
The result of this fundraising activity is encouraging and an unprecedented success. The charity sale has raised more than HK$ 800,000 in less than a month, which had broken the alltime record in fundraising events at SJPS. The event also boosted the morale of the school in their fight against the epidemic and further enhanced unity within and outside the school. Even the old boys in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom actively participated by making donations to support this charity event. The College will use the donations to enhance the BYOD program of the school. Raymond and his team would like to take this opportunity to thank old boys Kenneth Lee ’95 and Andy Cheng ’81 for their generous offer to lend their Wan Chai office as the 3D mask distribution center,; Jackson Lam ’03, Teddy Cheng ‘98 and Matthew Wong ‘94 for their selfless help in this event, for without any of them, the event would not have been a success. Last but not least they would also like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the two principals, Ms Ho of SJPS,and Ms Wong of SJC, for their unfailing support in this event.
