Artistic impression

The Hong Kong Museum of Art, which opened in 1962, was recently given a facelift by the Architectural Services Department.

The architects have created five public entrances. Inside, floor-to-ceiling glass panels allow visitors to enjoy the Victoria Harbour views while the renovated fifth floor gives the museum more space to host large installations and sculptures. The exterior combines optical art patterns with the masonry to reflect the diversity of the collection and reminds one of the rippling waves of the harbor. This unique architecture has made the museum one of Tsim Sha Tsui's newest landmarks.
