Almost all (90 percent) of respondents in Lululemon's fourth annual Global Wellbeing Report identified loneliness as a significant cause of burnout.
In an effort to alleviate loneliness, people are increasingly turning to movement with others - such as through group workout classes - to improve their overall wellbeing, deepen their connection with their communities, and gain a greater sense of purpose, the report revealed.
This finding has led to the brand's Together We Grow campaign to create more opportunities for people in Asia-Pacific to connect over movement - and by extension, take care of their wellbeing physically, mentally and socially.
At a recent event, Ian Chan, a member of boyband Mirror, promoted the importance of social connection to wellbeing.
"We all inevitably face loneliness and burnout, which is why I am grateful for the support from people around me. I am also deeply touched knowing that some people decide to choose my songs as a way to comfort themselves during tough times. It gives my music another level of meaning as it connects us," he said.
" I believe with the bonding and support network we build, we can overcome any challenges and achieve happiness and wellbeing."
He expressed his wish to set aside more time to exercise and perhaps to participate in different sports.
"The time spent on exercising allows me to focus, set my mind free of distractions, and recharge with a heart full of positive energy."
