Nvidia's chief executive Jensen Huang Jen-Hsun has landed in Beijing for his third trip to China this year, a strategic market for the US chip giant amid Sino-US tensions.
On Monday, two photos of Huang and Xiaomi (1810) founder, CEO and chairman Lei Jun taken in Beijing went viral on Chinese social media, indicating that the chip leader has arrived in Beijing.
Despite Beijing's 35-degree Celsius weather, Huang was still wearing his iconic leather jacket.
Huang will attend the China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing from July 16 to 20. It is also the first attendance of Nvidia at the expo, according to the organizer, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
Besides, Huang was reported to hold a media briefing on July 16.
The visit aims to promote new products and reiterate Nvidia's long-term commitment to the Chinese market, according to a previous Financial Times report.
Huang also hopes to meet with Premier Li Qiang and also plans talks with Vice Premier He Lifeng, though the meetings are pending final confirmation from Chinese authorities, FT reported, citing sources
It is also the third visit of Huang to China this year, following a trip in January and April.
