The Chinese University of Hong Kong's medical school is holding an online auction to celebrate its ruby jubilee.
Seven professors and alumni of the school have created or given away their favorite artworks and collections for auction.
They include Dean Francis Chan Ka-leung, who gave an antique pen holder from his collection; a Chinese painting by associate dean (external affairs) Philip Chiu Wai-yan; a cartoon artwork by alumnus Lucci Lugee Liyeung; a photograph by associate dean (research) Dennis Lo Yuk-ming; a calligraphy work, Bring in the Wine, by associate dean Enders Ng Kwok-wai; a calligraphy featuring an excerpt from Su Shi's Calm The Waves by emeritus professor in the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, Joseph Sung Jao-yiu; and an artwork, Pearl of the Orient, and an ink pen sketch by Randolph Wong Hung-leung, chief of the division of cardiothoracic surgery.
The proceeds will go to advancing the medical school's development in medical education, research and community services.
