Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga was so engrossed in talks with his US counterpart Joe Biden that he totally forgot to tuck into the hamburger served up for lunch during Friday's Japan-US summit.
Suga told reporters after the meeting: "I ended up doing nothing with [the burger]. That's how engrossed I was."
A one-on-one 20-minute lunch meeting was held at the beginning of the summit.
The two leaders talked mainly about private topics, including their families and life experiences, according to Suga.
Summit events were kept to a minimum over Covid concerns, but the two leaders kept plenty of space between themselves - and their burgers.
