Doctors go mask to mask over testing

Lo Chung-mau, chief executive of the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital, has hit out at his colleague Ho Pak-leung, expressing shock at Ho's plans to shun the community-wide Covid-19 test.

Without naming Ho, Lo told lawmaker Priscilla Leung Mei-fun in an interview last Sunday that his colleague must be a "miracle-working doctor" to know he does not have Covid-19 without a test.

Lo said Ho's remarks about how wearing masks and frequently washing hands guaranteed not getting infected were "dangerous."

The comments came after Ho, the head of HKU's Centre for Infection, said last week that he will not participate in citywide testing because he does not believe he is an "invisible spreader."

Ho also said that the chances of him being infected were low as he practiced preventive measures daily.
