Getting back in the saddle

The first racing day of the new season at the Sha Tin Racecourse will be rescheduled from September 5 to September 6 due to the postponement of the Legislative Council elections.

Although the Hong Kong Jockey Club did not give a reason for the change, it is understood that the plan to race on Saturday instead of the usual Sunday was to make way for the Legco elections, which have since been postponed.

The day meeting at Sha Tin the subsequent week will also be moved from September 12 to September 13, while a night meeting in Happy Valley will be rescheduled from April 7 to April 8.

Now the elections are postponed for a year with lawmakers staying on, horses can race as usual too.
