He said his bureau aims to "enrich the ambiance of mega arts and cultural events" in Hong Kong.
"This year, we launch Art March as a brand to promote multiple events organized, funded, or supported by the government," he said. "We hope that everyone can enjoy an unforgettable experience immersed in the artistic vibe of HK during March every year."
Exhibitions, film screenings, a cultural summit, and a fashion show will be held next month, Yeung said, adding the government "strives to showcase to the world the unique charm and diverse characteristics of Chinese culture in HK" to strengthen the country's international influence.
"We also aim to maximize the economic benefits of mega arts and cultural events. Tourism-related industries, such as hotels, retail, and catering, are encouraged to join hands with the arts and cultural sectors in polishing the Art March brand to provide citizens and visitors with an enriched artistic journey," Yeung said."You will also find exciting treats, including free ice cream distribution, and tram and Star Ferry rides at different times in March to promote Art March and its programs."
Meanwhile, Yeung said authorities are communicating with mainland counterparts to bring convenience to travelers visiting after sources said Beijing has agreed to expand coverage of the individual visit scheme."We will announce the details as soon as we finalize a plan," he said.
