The eight-day Lunar New Year Golden Week in the mainland spans from tomorrow to February 4.
MTR Corp earlier said it will provide more than 1,600 additional trips throughout the period and offer overnight services tomorrow, Lunar New Year's Eve.
Since last Friday, trains on the Island Line, Tsuen Wan Line, East Rail Line and South Island Line have been running more frequently during designated periods. This will continue until February 4.To facilitate passengers watching the fireworks display, trains on Thursday - including the Kwun Tong Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Island Line, South Island Line, Tuen Ma Line, East Rail Line and Tung Chung Line - will run more frequently before and after the show.
The Transport Department will also enhance services connecting various boundary control points, including increasing shuttle bus frequency at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge as well as for the Lok Ma Chau-Huanggang cross-border shuttle bus.In the early hours from Wednesday to Friday, after the East Rail Line ceases service, a special KMB bus service, Route N73, will run at Sheung Shui Station to carry passengers to the Lok Ma Chau-Huanggang cross-border shuttle bus interchange.
