Over 20 countries and regions from Asia and the Belt and Road Initiative showcased their cultural treasures at the Asian Ethnic Cultural Performances yesterday, drawing more than 32,000 visitors.

It featured a vibrant array of music and dance performances, traditional costumes, handicrafts and special snacks from 23 nations, including Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Nepal and Russia.
At the opening ceremony, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Kevin Yeung Yun-hung said the city's ambition is to establish the festival as an international cultural brand.
"The Asia+ Festival is a new platform for cultural and artistic exchange that celebrates the rich diversity of Asia, the Middle East and Belt and Road regions," Yeung said.
This year, a Russian booth introduced a workshop for traditional crown-shaped headdresses, which proved to be a popular attraction.Anastasiia Kraeva, who managed the booth, expressed their excitement about participating again next year, hoping for a larger venue.
"This event is like a mini journey to different countries, all while staying in Hong Kong," Kraeva said.Amina, a student from Kazakhstan who has lived in Hong Kong for four years, showcased an ethnic dance.
She noted the event's significance in highlighting diverse folk cultures across Asia."I will definitely invite my parents and friends to visit Hong Kong to experience its diversity and beauty," Amina said.
Local resident Lai, who attended with his wife and two young daughters, said the event helps children learn about different cultures and broadens their horizons.Elsewhere, nearly 15,000 people visited the M+ Museum yesterday, which offered free admission to over 10 general exhibitions in celebration of its third anniversary. Lau, a resident of Peng Chau, arrived at the museum at 8.30am, ahead of the 10am opening.
"I often visit the museum, but buying tickets can be expensive, so I wanted to take advantage of this free admission," he said.And Melody, a tourist from Shenzhen, specifically came to celebrate the museum's anniversary. She said she enjoyed the exhibitions, particularly one featuring floating bubbles.
