Reach for a Cheung Chau bun

Physically fit climbers aged 18 or above can seize a chance to join the Bun Scrambling Competition - the finale of the Bun Carnival on Cheung Chau on May 15.

Up to 200 people will take part in a selection contest on April 14, which will be divided into two rounds. Twenty-four contestants recording the shortest time in the preliminary round, including no fewer than six females, compete for the 12 finalist places.

The 12, including at least three females, will compete in the scrambling final from 11.30pm on May 15,and winners will be awarded trophies. The contestant who bags the most buns within the specified time also collects "full pockets of lucky buns."

Any male or female athlete who has won first prize three times in the scrambling from 2016 will be declared kings or queens.

Applicants must submit enrolment forms at any district leisure services office or sports centre in the Islands District by Monday.
