Two robotic servers eased a manpower crunch at the Legislative Council Complex cafeteria, council president Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen revealed yesterday.
Leung said Laap Chai and Laap Lui were very popular among a group of kindergarten students during a tour.
"I introduced the robots to a group of students," Leung said on Facebook. "The students were so excited that they followed the robots and became fans.
"The robots are light in size, shuttle around the restaurant, delivering food quickly and accurately.
"They are also popular among cafe diners as they will also wish you bon appetit and remind you to dine in the cafe more often."
The robots were created by a local technology company in the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks in 2019.
