A poster of farewell to the Fringe Club, the Central arts space occupied for 39 years on Ice House Street, has been reproduced widely on social media. Now is turns out to be fake news. The poster came as two key managers, Benny Chia and Catherine Lau, resigned. A leaving party was likely seen by some as the end of the club.
Pictures and videos of performances once performed at the club, which neighbors the Foreign Club, also appeared on social media, referring to the good old days in a landmark building for exhibitions and performances of less established artists.
