A Hong Kong teenager who became famous as a train enthusiast, Jason Law Zit-sum, is poised to study journalism at university with the aim of becoming a television reporter.Law became an instant hit when he sang about being "so excited that Tuen Ma Line is open" to the tune of Greensleeves when interviewed by TVB at the Sung Wong Toi MTR station on June 27 last year - the first day of the line's operation.

Then he was invited by the MTR to film a promotional video for the cross-harbor section of the East Rail Line in May. A DSE candidate this year, Law said he realized his on-camera performance was lacking even as he went about applying for the journalism program at Hang Seng University.
And he was admitted immediately yesterday morning. He also applied for the journalism program at Shue Yan University in the afternoon, saying he hopes to have a choice of universities.
It was by being interviewed by reporters multiple times that he gained an insight into reporting, Law added, and he was already a fan of following the news as "I want to know what's happening in Hong Kong."
