Elon Musk's transgender daughter is walking away from the richest man in the world after she filed a request to change her name to reflect her gender identity as, "I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."
The former Xavier Alexander Musk, who recently turned 18, asked the Los Angeles County Superior Court in April to change her gender recognition to female and to register her new name, which was redacted in the online court document. Her mother Justine Wilson divorced Musk in 2008.
There was no further explanation of the rift between father and daughter, but about a month after the name and gender change document was filed, Musk declared his support for the Republican Party which supports a raft of legislation that would limit transgender rights across the country.
Musk has also weighed in on the issue of people choosing their preferred pronouns, tweeting in 2020, "I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare."
