Motorists can now use e-payment to extend the time at roadside parking meters.The department reminded holders of e-Park cards - which ceased operation in late 2004 - must visit the department's offices in Wan Chai or Tsuen Wan on or before June 30, otherwise no refund can be made.
The Transport Department yesterday announced that all 9,800 roadside parking meters have been replaced with the new ones. While the old parking meters only accept payments by Octopus Card, the new ones accept credit cards and other electronic payments, while the HKeMeter mobile application can be used to find an empty parking space and extend parking times remotely.
