Singer and wife call it quits

Taiwanese-American singer Wang Leehom has applied for a divorce, ending his eight-year marriage to Lee Jinglei.

"In these years of marriage, there are many aspects which I did not do well enough. I am very sorry," he wrote on Weibo yesterday, confirming the divorce.

"Now we have different ideas and plans for our future lives, so we decided to go separate ways."

The 45-year-old singer said he and Lee won't respond to media any more as they want to keep the matter private.

"Although we have filed a divorce, we will always stay as family members," Wang said regarding their two daughters and a son.

He did not elaborate on who will get custody of the children. The two divorced at the end of November, according to Taiwanese media.
