Overturned taxi flies 10 metres in spectacular Kowloon Bay crash

A taxi crashed into a central divider in Kowloon Bay on Thursday night, flying 10 metres through the air before landing upside down, with the driver sustaining only minor injuries, police said.

The incident occurred around 10pm when the taxi, travelling along Wai Yip Street towards Kwun Tong, lost control near Telford Gardens and hit a central divider. The vehicle was severely damaged, with multiple windows shattered and debris scattered across the road. A traffic sign was also knocked down.

Rescue workers freed the driver, who sustained minor injuries and was taken to United Christian Hospital. Traffic on Wai Yip Street towards Kwun Tong was heavily congested, with all lanes temporarily closed.
