HK Express has canceled six flights to and from Okinawa on Monday (Jun 1) and Tuesday (Jun 2) as Typhoon Jangmi approaches Japan’s southern islands.
Four flights on Monday—UO844, UO845, UO824 and UO825—have been canceled. Another two flights on Tuesday, UO842 and UO843, will also be canceled.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong Airlines said its operations remain normal for now, but warned that flights between Hong Kong and Okinawa on Monday, as well as those to and from Osaka on Wednesday, could face delays or cancellations.
The airline advised passengers to check the company's website for the latest flight status before heading to the airport.
The Hong Kong Observatory said that Jangmi, located about 530 kilometers south of Okinawa on Sunday, will be moving north or northwest at around 14 kilometers per hour toward the Ryukyu Islands before tracking into waters south of Japan.
