Residents of Tai Po’s Wang Fuk Court, still reeling from the devastating fire that claimed multiple lives, voiced their concerns about fire safety and government oversight during the first round of public hearings held Thursday morning by the Tai Po Wang Fuk Court Fire Independent Committee.

The first of eight hearings, which took place at the City Gallery in Central, offered approximately 360 public seats, with half of them reserved for the residents of Wang Fuk Court.
The committee, which is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire, has so far published a list of 38 parties involved in the hearings.
