“I moved aside slightly, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to interview me,” said Fung, who was walking to lunch when the incident unfolded along Lam Hing Street.
The crash occurred around midday when the street was crowded with office workers heading out for lunch. Witnesses said a private car had just driven out from the Enterprise Square Phase 2 car park when it suddenly sped forward and mounted the pavement near the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education campus, plowing into pedestrians.

Fung said he saw the vehicle rush directly toward the pavement and tried to dodge it, but was still struck by the car and knocked to the ground, injuring the corner of his eye.
“The car rushed toward us very quickly, at least around 80 kilometers per hour,” he said.
Another witness, Lee, recalled hearing two loud crashes before realizing what had happened.
“I heard two crashing sounds. The first one wasn’t very loud, but the second was extremely loud. It didn’t even sound like a private car – I thought it was a truck hitting something,” he said.
When Lee walked outside to check the situation, he saw multiple people lying on the ground.
“Roughly I’d say there were about 10 people,” he said.
He said the driver later opened the door and got out of the vehicle. According to Lee, the driver appeared conscious and uninjured but looked stunned.
“He was looking around, but his expression seemed blank,” Lee said.
Lee added that several victims appeared to be seriously hurt.
“They were lying on the ground and not moving. The others were able to move but were holding their injuries and crying out in pain. There were both men and women among them.”
Another witness, Kong, said she heard shouting shortly after passing the area and turned around to see people lying on the pavement.
She said she noticed a woman lying on the ground who appeared injured.
“The girl’s fingers were still moving. I really hoped someone would come quickly to help her,” she said.

The crash took place on a stretch of pavement frequently used by pedestrians working in nearby offices. The sudden impact caused panic as people scrambled to help the injured while others called emergency services.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
