Man found hanged in Kwai Chung flat; financial troubles suspected

A 53-year-old man was found dead in a flat at Kwai Chung Building on Lei Pui Street in Kwai Chung on Tuesday (Mar 10) in a suspected suicide.

Police received a report at around noon that a man was lying unconscious inside a unit at 10–30 Lei Pui Street. Emergency personnel arrived and found him hanging with an electric wire about one meter long. Firefighters took him down, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

No suicide note was found. He is believed to have taken his own life due to financial difficulties.

The cause of death will be determined following a post-mortem examination.
