The attack occurred at around 11.56am near a public restroom along Tin Chau Road. According to initial reports, the woman was walking past the area when a wild boar measuring about one meter in length suddenly charged at her and bit her leg.
The woman reportedly screamed in pain as the animal refused to release its grip, alerting nearby villagers, who rushed to the scene.
Several villagers used wooden sticks to drive the boar away and eventually forced it to release the woman.
During its escape, the animal lost its footing and tumbled down a staircase of about 30 steps, where it reportedly died on the spot after vomiting blood.
The 57-year-old victim also rolled down a nearby slope after the boar let go. Paramedics later arrived at the scene and took her to the hospital for treatment.
The carcass of the wild boar was later covered with a black sheet and is expected to be removed by the relevant authorities.
