The Education Bureau confirmed that 40 students and five teachers from three primary schools have safely returned to Hong Kong following their exchange trip to Dubai, amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
According to the bureau, the schools have already informed parents and their respective management committees about the situation.
They will continue to monitor the students' emotional well-being and provide appropriate support where necessary.
Meanwhile, a secondary school that had originally planned a transit through Dubai later this month for an overseas exchange program has decided to reroute and arrange alternative flights.
The bureau reiterated that safety is the top priority for all overseas study tours. Schools are reminded to ensure the safety of all participants at all times and to make suitable adjustments based on prevailing circumstances.
Furthermore, the authorities stated it will maintain close communication with the schools concerned and offer continued support and assistance.
