Around 8pm yesterday, more than 20 relatives and friends were celebrating inside a unit at Leung King Estate’s Leung Kit House when a thief quietly approached the corridor outside.
The group had left over 20 pairs of shoes neatly placed by the door.
The suspect carefully selected and took four pairs of premium sneakers—two Nike, one Puma, and one from Swiss brand On—before slipping away unnoticed.
It was only after the gathering ended around midnight that the homeowners discovered the theft as guests prepared to leave barefoot or without their shoes.
Police were called and classified the case as theft or loss, with no arrests made so far.
The following morning, the homeowner posted a warning on Facebook, urging neighbors to stay alert as similar incidents have recently occurred in the estate.
They shared security footage captured by residents showing the thief—a man in his 20s with dyed blond hair, dressed in black clothing, and carrying a backpack. In the clip, he is seen scanning the area, crouching to inspect shoe brands outside a flat at 8.35pm, then quickly leaving after apparently noticing a security camera.
