Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu on Monday delivered his Lunar New Year message for the Year of the Horse, pledging that the government would move without pause to seize opportunities and overcome challenges in the year ahead.
In a video message, Lee said the horse represents speed and stamina, boldly charging ahead and covering vast distances every day. He added that the animal also embodies the tenacity and resilience of Hong Kong people.
“As we step into the Year of the Horse, let us continue to move with agility and steadiness, seizing opportunities, overcoming challenges, and propelling Hong Kong forward,” he said.
The video featured Lee alongside his wife, Janet Lee Lam Lai-sim, as the couple visited horses to mark the festive occasion.

“My wife and I wish for every sector in Hong Kong to lead the way, for every endeavor to meet with swift success, and for the Year of the Horse to bring good fortune and joy to all,” Lee said.
The chief executive’s message highlighted themes of perseverance and forward momentum as the city enters the new lunar year.
