Woman arrested for cutting husband's back with cleaver in Tai Po

A 50-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly cutting her husband's back with a cleaver during a quarrel at their public housing flat in Tai Po on Wednesday night.

Police received a report from the 53-year-old Fang surnamed man at around 9.30pm. He said he and his wife were arguing inside their flat at Kwong Lai House in Kwong Fuk Estate when the woman allegedly attacked him with a knife measuring about 29 centimetres.

Officers arrived and arrested the Yiu surnamed woman on suspicion of assault. She is being detained for investigation. The case has been taken over by the criminal investigation team of Tai Po district.

The man sustained a back injury and was taken conscious to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for treatment.
