An 80-year-old taxi driver was granted HK$5,000 bail Tuesday after appearing in court charged with dangerous driving causing death in a crash that killed a Filipino tourist outside Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West last August.
The defendant, surnamed Wong, faced one count of dangerous driving causing death at Shatin Magistrates' Courts today.
The magistrate adjourned the case to March 31 for further proceedings, pending the pathology report for Wong. During this period, he was granted bail under the condition of HK$5,000.
The court heard that on August 5, 2025, when Wong allegedly drove his taxi dangerously on the roadway at Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West, resulting in the death of Filipino national Matignas Remyl De Leon.
