The third edition of the Hong Kong Shopping Festival, which aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in expanding their mainland e-commerce business, is now accepting applications until February 13.
Scheduled for August, the event marks the third consecutive year of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's (HKTDC) flagship program, E-Commerce Express.
The third edition will focus on two core activities, including "Discount Month" and "E-commerce Livestreaming," while promotional methods will be optimized to keep pace with the latest e-commerce marketing trends in mainland China.
The HKTDC will create an official event webpage and set up a "main venue" for the festival on major e-commerce platforms, which will feature participating brands, product information, and their offered discounts.
Multi-channel advertising will be applied to attract mainland consumers to visit and shop at the online stores of Hong Kong merchants.
Furthermore, this year's festival is introducing several free value-added services, covering areas such as training, one-on-one professional consulting, and social media marketing.
Last year's event attracted nearly 260 brands from Hong Kong businesses, bringing together over 500 products, while the official event webpage, related topic pages on the e-commerce platforms, and brands' websites collectively generated over 100 million views.
A "main venue" was also established on major platforms such as Tmall, JD.com, and Douyin last year to offer mainland consumers a one-stop online shopping experience with special offers.
