Man arrested for allegedly threatening people with sword in Kai Tak

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon after allegedly threatening passers-by with a sword in Kai Tak on Monday night.

Police received a report around 11pm that a man was holding what appeared to be a sword and intimidating people outside the Kai Tak Station Square. Officers arrived and found the man, locating a 41-centimeter short sword with handle in his backpack.

The man, surnamed Lee, is being held for investigation by the Sau Mau Ping district crime squad.
