Police arrested a 13-year-old girl for assault occasioning actual bodily harm after she kicked, slapped, and pulled the hair of a 15-year-old victim at Kwun Tong Promenade in the early hours of Thursday, amid cheering bystanders who failed to intervene.
The incident was reported to police at 2.59am today, stemming from a trivial dispute.
Officers arrived and detained the underage assailant, while the 15-year-old victim, injured on her neck and legs, was taken conscious to United Christian Hospital.
Viral videos show the off-shoulder attacker aggressively kicking the victim, shouting about repeated provocations, and then slapping her forcefully.
When the victim tried to leave, the assailant delivered a flying kick from behind and yanked her hair.
Dozens of young onlookers encircled the fight, filming on phones, shouting encouragement like "hit her" and "keep going," or handing a mask to the attacker to hide her face. No one attempted to stop the violence.
