Recognized as a top-five global venue in ticket sales, Kai Tak Sports Park has powered through its debut year, hosting over 90 mega-events for more than 7 million attendees.
Since its opening on March 1, the venue has positioned itself as a noteworthy stage for the global entertainment scene, featuring landmark events such as Hong Kong Sevens, sold-out concerts by global superstars like Coldplay and SEVENTEEN, and high-profile football matches.
The main stadium has been a particular draw, surpassing one million attendees within its first six months—over half of whom were tourists—and accumulating over 1.6 million spectators with over 40 sports and entertainment events.
Notably, Pollstar's 2025 list has ranked the stadium first in Asia and fifth globally for gross revenue.
Beyond global spectacles, the park's public sports facilities—ranging from football and basketball to climbing and pickleball—have driven significant community impact.
To date, nearly 100,000 hours of sports activity have been logged by over 42,000 users.
Meanwhile, the Kai Tak Sports Initiative has been promoting health and fitness in the community since 2018, partnering with over 100 collaborators to launch more than 200 community projects.
Key events include the "Kai Tak GET SET GO" carnival and “Kowloon City District City Heritage Run”, which attracted around 220,000 participants.
The adjacent Kai Tak Mall has also flourished, boasting over 90 percent occupancy and featuring nearly 80 dining outlets, as well as international brands like the Liverpool FC Official Flagship Store and the Hong Kong Billiard Sport Academy.
It is reported that the sales across the stores have increased by over 20 percent compared to the early opening phase.
To commemorate the journey of its transformation, the park will release a one-hour documentary titled “Game On, Kai Tak!” on January 3, which chronicles the project's conception to its thriving events at the sports park.
Featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the construction process and operational details, the audience will witness how the team overcame challenges to host world-class sports, music, and cultural events, further solidifying the city’s reputation as a premier hub for mega-events.
The documentary will be presented in three segments, focusing on the engineering achievements of the superstructure, personal stories of athletes connected to the venue, and the intensive preparations behind international events at "Hong Kong's Home Ground."
