Presented by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency, “Yau Ma Tei Police Station: A Cinematic Journey” blends historic architecture with Hong Kong’s classic police and crime film culture.
Law said on a program that Hong Kong police and crime films are world-famous, noting that during past overseas visits, political and business circles in South Korea showed great familiarity and interest in them.
She highlighted that visitors can experience the layout and atmosphere of the old police station firsthand, as the exhibition transforms the venue into a cinema showcasing props from classic films.

Visitors can also enjoy an immersive experience of becoming a movie protagonist through AI technology and other interactive means.
The exhibition has already received over a thousand reservations. General admission is HK$30, and Law stressed that the public “doesn’t need to scramble for tickets or resell them at inflated prices,” as the exhibition will be long-term.
During the same program, Law also expressed gratitude to the hotel and catering industries for their understanding following the cancellation of the New Year’s Eve fireworks display due to the Tai Po fire.
She added that the number of overseas visitors to Hong Kong increased during the recent Christmas period, with a single-day peak of 51,000 arrivals.
Even after the fire, many events were hosted as scheduled, demonstrating Hong Kong’s resilience and its ability to avoid coming to a complete halt in the face of adversity, she said.
Additionally, Law expects the fireworks display celebrating the Lunar New Year to proceed as usual next year.
