The owner stated that his takeaway-focused shop, which serves affordable roast meat rice starting at HK$28, had been struggling for over a year. Despite his dedication to offering simple yet tasty meals, low customer turnout left him unsure whether he could continue operating.
About a month ago, a mainland student from HKU reposted a recommendation for the shop on social media, attracting new customers and turning many into repeat patrons. The owner said the support had changed his life and expressed special thanks to mainland HKU students.
“Without them, I might have had to close,” he added.
To show his appreciation, the owner announced small price cuts: HK$2 off double combos, HK$3 off triple combos, and HK$5 off quadruple combos.
“As long as this shop is open, I will do my best to offer affordable, delicious meals to those far from home,” he said.
While many regulars praised the generous portions and reasonable prices, some advised the owner not to lower prices further, citing concerns about long-term sustainability.
