The 21-year-old world No. 143 looked in complete control despite a shaky start against the world No. 319.
After dropping serve early and trailing 3-5 in the opening set, Wong fired five aces and raised his level to reel off four straight games, snatching the set 7-5 with a crucial break.
From there, he never looked back, racing through the second set in just 29 minutes with a scoreline of 6:0 that sealed a comprehensive straight-sets victory.
With no bronze-medal match in the men’s singles draw, Wong’s place in Wednesday’s semifinals automatically locks in Hong Kong’s first single tennis medal at the National Games.
