The first incident involved a 54-year-old female patient who was mistakenly injected with insulin based on another patient's blood test results.
Meanwhile, a separate case involved a 59-year-old female patient who was prescribed an incorrect dosage of anticoagulant medication.
Fortunately, both patients are in stable conditions.
The Department of Health stated that they responded promptly upon receiving reports of these incidents, requiring the hospital to submit an investigation report within four weeks.
Following the investigation, it was found that the hospital did not adhere to the relevant guidelines outlined in the Private Hospital Facilities Ordinance regarding the insulin injection case, prompting regulatory actions.
Regarding the incorrect dosage of anticoagulant medication, the department confirmed that there was no evidence suggesting the hospital violated related guidelines concerning premises, staffing, or equipment.
The department indicated that the hospital has implemented improvement measures and will continue to monitor the situation to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
