A male pedestrian was critically injured after being hit by a lorry in Tai Po early Thursday.
The incident occurred around 3am at the intersection of On Tai Road and On Po Road when the lorry driver reported striking a pedestrian while turning onto On Po Road.
Emergency personnel found the approximately 60-year-old victim unconscious with serious head injuries, lying in a pool of blood. The scene contained a pair of glasses and significant blood stains.
The pedestrian was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in critical condition.



The lorry driver remained at the scene to assist with the investigation. Police are examining whether the pedestrian was crossing illegally and have reviewed traffic lights and surveillance footage to determine responsibility.
Part of the road was temporarily closed for evidence collection.
