Breezy Chung Yeung ahead as winds strengthen, cooler weather to follow

Hong Kong is set for a breezy Chung Yeung Festival tomorrow, with the observatory warning of force 4 to 5 easterly winds and urging fire safety for countryside visitors.

A fresh to strong easterly airstream is expected to reach the Guangdong coast later today, bringing windy conditions to the region for the next couple of days.

Tomorrow will be mainly cloudy with a few light rain patches in the morning, giving way to sunny intervals later. Temperatures will range from 24 to 27 degrees Celsius.

The warmth is forecast to continue into Halloween on Friday, with a high of 29 degrees.

However, a change is on the horizon as the northeast monsoon is expected to influence southern China’s coastal areas towards the weekend.

This will bring slightly cooler mornings from the weekend into early next week, with a more significant temperature drop anticipated by the start of November, bringing lows of around 22 degrees.
