The Newspaper Society of Hong Kong has elected Tammy Tam Wai-yi as chairman as it held the 69th annual general meeting on Tuesday (Oct 21).
Alex Ko Chi-ngai, Raymond Huang and Vincent Teng Chuen-cheong have been elected as vice-chairmen by the Society's Council. Other office-bearers elected were Honorary Secretary Luo Xinghui and Honorary Treasurer Eric Lai.
The Council has also appointed Alan Lo as executive director and Lo Wing-hung as the Society's spokesperson.
A total of 15 council members were elected in the general meeting. In addition, Lee Cho-jat has stepped down from his role as president of the Society and will continue to provide guidance and support to the Society's development as Honorary President.
The Society said it will "continue to safeguard the interests of the industry, enhance professional standards, and facilitate candid exchanges and dialogues on the industry's future development" between the industry and the government.
It noted that it will unite and rally industry stakeholders in supporting the development of the automated advertising sales platform "NewsocHub" initiated by the Society.
