Dismembered wild boars found in abandoned carts in Sai Kung

Police in Sai Kung are investigating a disturbing case of animal cruelty after villagers on Friday night reported finding two abandoned shopping carts containing the dismembered remains of what are believed to be two young wild boars.

Around 9pm yesterday, residents near the car park opposite Pik Shui Sun Tsuen on Chuk Kok Road in Sai Kung alerted authorities after witnessing several unidentified men abandoning two suspicious shopping carts and fleeing the scene. 

When officers arrived, they uncovered eight transparent plastic bags filled with bloodied, dismembered raw meat, including internal organs, believed to be from two juvenile wild boars.

Police immediately launched an investigation, with officers combing the area for suspects, though no arrests have been made so far. 

Investigators, some wearing gloves to handle the evidence, carefully examined the contents of the plastic bags to gather clues. 

The case has been classified as a cruelty to animals case.
