A collision on Tolo Highway left a truck driver injured and briefly trapped in his vehicle on Friday afternoon, prompting a swift response from the emergency services.

The accident occurred at 2pm on the northbound fast lane toward Sheung Shui, near the Wan Tau Tong Estate, where a 5.5-tonne truck slammed into the rear of a construction vehicle.
Footage circulating online captured the aftermath, showing the truck’s front end heavily damaged, with its windshield shattered and debris scattered across the road. The driver, whose foot was injured, was found inside the cab.
The construction vehicle ahead sustained damage to its rear, with a telescopic metal frame collapsed on the ground.
Firefighters arrived promptly, freeing the driver and rushing him to North District Hospital for treatment.
