The double-fatality collision occurred on Po Heung Lane during the Mid-Autumn Festival afternoon when a private car lost control and crashed into a parked light truck. The impact forced the truck into the elderly woman and her domestic helper, who became trapped between the vehicle and a lamppost and died at the scene.
The elderly employer sustained severe head injuries and was transported unconscious to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries around 7 pm despite emergency treatment.

Two additional victims - a 64-year-old male truck driver and a 71-year-old female passenger in the private car - sustained minor injuries and were taken to Tai Po Nethersole Hospital in conscious condition.
Police have arrested the 60-year-old private car driver, surnamed Chung, on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death. The New Territories North Traffic Department is investigating and has appealed for witnesses to contact investigators at 3661 3800.
