The suspect, identified by the surname Tang, was being held for investigation when he complained of discomfort and was transported to the hospital. During his medical visit, Tang requested to use the bathroom and managed to flee while officers waited outside.

According to police sources, the suspect was still wearing handcuffs during his escape. Authorities have launched a full-scale manhunt for Tang, described as approximately 1.75 meters tall with a thin build, fair skin, short brown hair, and last seen shirtless wearing black-and-white checkered patient trousers and black sports shoes.
The case has been transferred to the Border District Regional Crime Unit. Police urge anyone with information to contact investigators at 3661 4065 or call 999.

The escapee was originally arrested on October 4 after crashing a suspected "drug delivery car" into a lamppole on San Tam Road in Yuen Long. Police had seized substantial quantities of methamphetamine, ketamine, cocaine, cannabis buds, and etomidate vapes from the wrecked vehicle.
