Wong Tai Sin Temple hosts two-week Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival

Wong Tai Sin Temple in Hong Kong launched its annual Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival on Saturday, transforming the temple grounds into a dazzling display of culture and tradition. 

The two-week event features an array of large-scale lantern installations and intricate light decorations that illuminate the iconic temple, creating a festive atmosphere for visitors. 

The celebration includes engaging activities such as lantern riddle games, moon-gazing sessions, and performances of traditional Chinese music, offering a rich cultural experience for families and festival-goers.

To accommodate the expected crowds, the temple will extend its operating hours by one hour, remaining open until 10pm on weekends and on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival itself. 

The event, which runs through early October, invites the public to immerse themselves in the vibrant traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival while enjoying the temple’s beautifully adorned setting and lively entertainment.
