A 37-year-old man from mainland China was abducted by three men in a van after dining with a female companion at a Japanese restaurant on Bailey Street in Hung Hom on Friday night, prompting a police manhunt across Kowloon.
At approximately 10.38pm yesterday (Sep 26), police received a report from a woman stating that her male companion was forcibly taken by a private seven-seater vehicle after they left the restaurant.
According to the report, three men in their 30s, dressed in black clothing and wearing black masks, approached the couple, forced the man into the vehicle, and sped off.
The woman immediately alerted the authorities.
Police launched a search operation across Kowloon, setting up checkpoints along Kwun Tong Road to monitor for the suspect vehicle and reviewing nearby security camera footage for evidence.
Later that night, authorities located the suspected seven-seater van abandoned near Choi Ping House in Choi Yuen Estate, Sheung Shui. The kidnapped man was found unharmed around 3am this morning in the Border District Police Headquarters.
The case is being treated as "false imprisonment" and has been handed over to the Kowloon City police district for further investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
Pollice are currently looking for three men in their 30s who were wearing black shirts and black masks at the time of the incident.
