The suspect, a security guard, faces a murder charge after the violent altercation at their home left the septuagenarian victim fatally wounded.
Despite efforts to save him, the father succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The suspect appeared in West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court for his first hearing today, dressed in a black long-sleeve shirt, sporting a white beard and round silver glasses.
When asked by security if he understood his charge, the security answered that he did.
The prosecution requested an adjournment until November 20 to allow police to conduct further investigations, a request granted by Magistrate Gary Chu Man-hon.
No bail application was made, and the defendant will remain in custody pending the next hearing.
The charge accuses the man of murdering his father on September 23 at their ground-floor residence in Sam Tung Uk Village.
