The Hong Kong Education Bureau has announced that all schools will be suspended on Tuesday and the following day (September 23 and 24) due to the impending threat of Super Typhoon Ragasa.
The decision aims to ensure student safety as weather conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly, with winds potentially reaching hurricane force offshore and on high ground.
In addition to the school closures, the Bureau stated that during this period, schools will temporarily stop accepting paper applications for the 2026 Primary One discretionary place admissions.
The deadline for these paper submissions has been extended to September 30.
Parents are reminded that they can still submit electronic applications via the "Primary One Admission Electronic Platform" (epoa.edb.gov.hk) until September 26.
The suspension affects all secondary schools, primary schools, special schools, kindergartens, kindergarten-cum-child care centres, and evening schools.
